Municipal and government leaders visit Alphalyse

Last week, Alphalyse proudly welcomed Mayor of Odense Peter Rahbæk Juel, Member of Parliament Trine Bramsen, Minister for Higher Education and Science Christina Egelund, Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Morten Bødskov, and Rector Jens Ringsmose of the University of Southern Denmark (SDU).
The visit was part of a press event highlighting the commitment of the Odense Municipality to becoming a leading hub for Danish life science innovation.
This ambition aligns closely with the national Life Science Strategy from the Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs, which aims at reinforcing Denmark’s global standing in biotechnology through investment in research, innovation, and advanced analytical technologies.
Alphalyse Co-founders, CEO Thomas Kofoed and COO Ejvind Mørtz, shared how the company has grown from its beginnings in 2002 into the current global leader in impurity analysis of biopharmaceuticals using mass spectrometry.

Our analytical solutions, such as the Host Cell Protein and ELISA-MS™ analyses, were developed in collaboration with SDU researchers.
These technologies now help ensure the safety and efficacy of next-generation vaccines and biopharmaceutical therapies, including antibody, cell, gene, and viral vector-based treatments, for patients with rare or serious illnesses worldwide.
Each year, we welcome SDU students for thesis projects, internships, and PhD programs – building strong bridges between education, research, and industry.
- Our growth and success have also been made possible by strategic investments from public initiatives, including Innovation Fund Denmark and the Market Readiness Fund (Markedmodningsfonden), as well as support for several of our PhD projects through state-backed programs.
