ZenoTOF 7600 system installed

22 November 2023

One challenge when developing next-gen biotherapeutics is identifying and eliminating undesired post-translational modifications (PTMs). PTMs can occur if biotherapeutic proteins are inadvertently exposed to stressors such as suboptimal pH values or temperature changes.

Traditional methods for peptide mapping used in the development, characterization, and quality control of biotherapeutics hold several limitations. Particularly regarding detailed analysis of PTM localizations, peptide side chain differences (amino acid isomers such as isoAsp), di- and trisulfide linkages, and comprehensive characterization of glycosylations.

This is why our CEO Thomas Kofoed was so excited by the arrival of the new SCIEX® ZenoTOF 7600 system that he had to unwrap it himself.

The ZenoTOF 7600 is our brand-new mass spectrometry instrument for characterization, peptide mapping, and intact mass analysis. We’re excited to start putting it through its paces and discover all the cool stuff it can do.

Thomas Kofoed, CEO of Alphalyse, is helping to install the new ZenoTOF instrument.
